I could imagine that a lot of you would really want to do this, but there's a pretty neat utility one of my friends told me about and I thought I'd actually post about it! Well it's not an old program but it's from 2011. It's called wwdumpsnd.exe which can be used to extract a lot's of sound's from many gamecube games (especially SMS) and the coder of it is HCS which is a site full of VGM ripping tools and some are for decompressing audio from gamecube games. I have tested it with the PAL version of this game, And this really works! I have also tested this tool with LM audio and it works!
Utilities you will need:
1. SZS file decompressor (yaz0 decoder) DOWNLOAD (included in szstools 1.0): amnoid.de/gc/index.html
2. RARC dumper DOWNLOAD (included in szstools 1.0): amnoid.de/gc/index.html
3. WWDUMPSND.exe DOWNLOAD (scroll down until you see it): www.hcs64.com/vgm_ripping.html
STEP 1: Find a Super Mario Sunshine ISO on the Internet.
STEP 2: Use GCRebuilder to export the game's files somewhere (the root).
STEP 3: Now navigate to where you have saved the root folder (you can also rename it smsroot). go to the data folder in the root and scroll down until you see a file called nintendo.szs. COPY and PASTE that file to where you downloaded the SZS file decompressor.
STEP 4: Simply drag the SZS file to yaz0dec.exe and now it'll make a RARC file out of it. Now DELETE the SZS file and now COPY and PASTE that file to where you downloaded the RARC dumper and delete the original from the SZS decompressor location folder. Simply drag this RARC onto rarcdump.exe and now it'll make a folder out of the RARC (takes like 10 sec)! DELETE the RARC now.
STEP 5: Now that you have fully decompressed the nintendo.szs file, go to a sub-folder in there called audi in the folder and you'll see a file called msound.aaf, COPY and PASTE that file to where you downloaded wwdumpsnd and now rename the one that's in wwdumpsnd "JaiInit" without the quotes.
STEP 6: Go back to the root folder and go to "AudioRes --> Banks" COPY and PASTE all those AW files over to where you downloaded wwdumpsnd now.
STEP 7: Open cmd and go to where you downloaded wwdumpsnd, and type in "wwdumpsnd -v" without the quotes and it will extract all the WAV files from the banks in the game!
Now you can listen to a bunch of Mario sounds! (in w2ndLoad) 000000ab to 000000ff. Also some Yoshi SFX can be found from (w2ndLoad) 00000142 to 00000154.
