sorry guys... I have school... but I'm here now! okay well when I tried the bmario thing on nintendont (homebrew) it doesn't even load the mod... when I tried running the game it just freezes on NINTENDO. I might've done something wrong. when I extract both luige.szp and bmario.szp from root do I also wanna put luige.mdl in "bmario --> model"? maybe that was what I did wrong cuz I did that then I recompressed bmario.szp. well also I tried making orange ghost white again (deleted the txp files from obake01.szp) then I overwrited mBrightColor and mAmbColor again in hex with FF. Idk I'm sure the models not being recognized right messed it up, do I need to rename the copy of bmario.mdl to luige.mdl? Spacecats are you familiar with the MDL2OBJ errors? also I have pdx-pom3... wait how do I "patch" gamecube games? >_< lol. Maybe the MDL2OBJ not working well for me is cuz I have python 2.7? was it programmed in an older version? Hi again, how are high school's!? Well, you sure are like me at my hacker beginner ways to put bmario (don't want to offend)...but can I do the tutorial with attached photos? And warning, it will be an long post! Can you post your results of color editing (as an photo) and put here? You need to replace obake011.txp, if I remember correctly. The mystery of the mdl2obj tool, I completely got out because it's very confusing! Tell me, does this tool will have an update or it will be descontinued? AND YES, YOU HAVE TO RENAME THE bmario.mdl from root/models/bmario.szp to the LUIGE.MDL model in root/model/luige.szp. But yes, it will be broken. I don't have any idea how to fix this, but I recommend you to ask Lukie to seem if he know because you can see in one of his videos that he got Mario even to walk properly! For the spacecats patch without an file format, for example, you need to put the .ppf at the end of the file. And you can have the file applied to the LM iso. And remember, you need to have an unmodified, unhacked iso or it won't will work. That is how it just is supposed to be, lolz. THIS WAS LONG, NOT?

what I meant by apply a patch is to make a custom patch of the game, but I don't have a clue how to make ppf files. there's probably a tool for that?

If it crashes on nintendo then game.szp is too big, you can make it smaller by deleting unused models from it like tomato and sphere

If it crashes on nintendo then game.szp is too big, you can make it smaller by deleting unused models from it like tomato and sphere thanks spacecats well I'm trying to work on more ROM hacking but... can you provide an explanation of why whenever I try to run the mdl2obj.py script in CMD it displays at the end "AttributeError: Class Header has no attribute '__new__' " like what the heck I have no clue... some programming error... I would wonder if anyone would have a version of these that are 100% free of errors. I think I found some of the GB horror font BTIs! we're most likely not the first to discover this but yeah! if only I could convert the BTIs to an editable format. then recompress them. prntscr.com/ayky2a

Waaah...(for me here, is good morning!) Well, to be exact, you found ALL the textures belonging to the Gameboy Horror's operations (like checking the map, the treasure list, and the first-person borders. There's also ALL textures for the first-person view, not the borders. And also some letters and words belonging to the operations, almost forget.) The real location of the timer textures should be root/game/game_usa.szp/kawano/newtime. All discovered by the help of that lovely program, BTIconvert! EDIT: Well...there's a simple preview below.

(Lukie might've posted some of those for BMD edits). but I found a MTL, blender and OBJ file within the ZIPs in TMR. Is it pointless to do something someone's already done? yeah... but what if people wanted to know how they would've done it? well I see a bunch of PNG files that have been ripped from the game. I believe you can edit OBJs in a specific version of photoshop. wait no tool for OBJ to MDL? hmm I think there's one for OBJ to BDL.

No you can use blender or 3ds max, obj is the most common model format in existence. okay spacecats well did you see my thread on "File Too Large"? well I was wondering... cuz the other MDL may be bigger than the original... can blender open MDL files and is there an option to change size so it fits? or do I have to download the OBJ file from the internet, then open in blender and change the size? is there an option to export as MDL though is there some kind of plugin? Idk how lmfinishgamer would've done this without any issues...

I remembered of 3ds max, but I wasn't sure if I can use it for opening some models. I've posted in your large file problem thread now. Take a look! EDIT: Well...all about that model stuff is created by me, very sorry for maintaing everything a mystery here and not revealing the most simple way. I just used the Betagust Patch from spacecats (credits to him). This is the only and the better way to do the Beta Poltergust replacement without any invisible model problems. Make sure that you're using a clean and unmodified iso. EDIT 2: I hope you see me here later Tech. I got bored for a while, SO I DECIDED TO MAKE AN ANY% SPEEDRUN OF LM RIGHT NOW. I will be out for most likely 1 hour and 30 minutes. AFTER MY RECORD IS DONE, I WILL SURE POST IN MY SPEEDRUNS THREAD. Bye!

There are no plugins for LM mdl files (valve has their own mdl files, so dont be fooled) for anything. There is an old 3dsmax script for importing them (NOT EXPORTING mind you) but its broken as all hell (no textures or anything, most models dont even import) and not mine, so I cant give it out without the original authors permission (and he's long gone). I was working on an mdl tool a while ago for converting them but thats been put on hold due to other projects.
