Okay so I've been trying to test a models swap but the modified iso doesn't even load! well until I notice that when I make a whole new game(country).szp file it appears like 100KB bigger than the original. I've heard people say this before that we just don't have the original compressors by Nintendo. but how can I change the size without having to delete other things from the game (yeah when I make a new archive it appears bigger as well). Maybe this is because, I've been testing these on the wii, and maybe the wii is programmed differently to block the game from loading due to something being changed in the game's code? but it works perfectly fine with loading file and hex edits... Can anyone help me with making the recompressed files the right size? Thanks for any help!

Well Tech (I have an strange being of thinking to not call the persons by their name, lolz). But are you using ArcExtract and yay.exe finded in the tools section? When using yay.exe, none of the previous errors that happened to the past happened for me again. Maybe you should use these programs! EDIT: You need to use GCRebuilder. Someone said (I think that it is Absolute's) that the folder &&SystemData that comes with the root is necessary for getting rid of any errors.

I've always used yay0enc.exe. yes. I decompress the files correctly and all.

Well...so good to see you there online! yay.exe is the same thing as yay0enc.exe, but I think that it is for compatibility problems like for the users of W10 (Windows 10). with the tags -c, file.arc file.szp to recompress it. I said that you need to use GCRebuilder for both decompressing and compressing again the iso. When you decompile the root with GCR, it comes with an necessary folder named "&&SystemData" that is required for the iso, AS THE FOLDER CONTAINS THE START.DOL. You may use another program that doesn't detect the folder "&&SystemData" as required, so it leaves the iso without the start.dol. Try re/decompiling the iso root only with GCRebuilder. Well, theflyingkrock posted in the thread "Base list of existing tools for Luigi's Mansion" in the tools sections about some big folder of tools. He included some program named yay.exe. As I seen, it is a bit modified version, since it worked in my note and yay0enc not! And eventually it worked when I tried to properly recompile the szp file! I'm recommending to use that program because when I recompiled the szp with it my first hacks worked. (Sorry if it was a SUPER long, lolz)

>_< ........ I would like to make model edits did you ever see the OLD thing spacecats did when he imported custom model for money? he must've done something that would convert the compressed model to editable format. I know about theflyingkrock's tools. I haven't downloaded them yet. you say he modified the yay.exe? well I need to wait for spacecats' response on "HOW TO MAKE SIZE FIT"... okay well... I DO use the correct tools for decompressing and recompressing... it's just, I'm having an issue even loading the modified iso since the game(country).szp is like 100KB as a replacement... and the arc replacement has the same issue. I saw you in the other thread mention about your luigi's mansion speedrun. well good luck!

No, it's an modified yay.exe by someone out there, not him or even me, lol. BUT....Spacecats imported the custom model for coins. Remember that the coin model is in .bmd format? Well, spacey would have catched an .bmd for another game (like SMG2 or SMG, or any other Mario game) and replaced the coin model with another. I must say that he didn't modified anything in the custom model, since it is too big and doesn't cause any problems to the model.
Well...I have to go now, friend. I got bored for a while, SO I WOULD DECIDE TO MAKE A NEW RECORD FOR MY ANY% NM SPEEDRUN. Since I need to count the time here with Alarms and Clocks (it would be in that name) with the chronometer here in the program. Be adviced, I will be out of the forums for an estimated time of 1 hour and 40 minutes, and I sure will post my new record in my speedrun thread for anyone here see. And I also will be offering strats! Bye now, my friend Tech!

I didn't think BMD is used in wii games. wait can GCR export root from wii games as well? oh thanks! well I'm trying to do this "Luigi replace with Mario" thing. I don't think anyone's done tutorial on model editing yet so I'm trying to do it myself... well I know Lukie already managed to replace coins with discs. okay well good luck! I remember my 100% luigi's mansion speedrun in about 12 hours or so. LOL 12 hours but I was taking breaks xD.

WOW! Mine is like 1:46, or 45 minutes. but yeah some Wii games like SMG and SMG2, have almost ALL planets in ALL galaxies as BMD models. Wait, I'm still here? And I will going to do the any% normal mansion speedrun, it will be a bit easy. And GCRebuilder as I checked, it seems to gave errors when trying to extract from Wii games. To extract from Wii games, you will need to use WiiScrubber. and thanks as well! that nintendont...Is a complete trash. Because it is crashing ALL, but ALL times when I try to start the game. WHY, MY GOD?

Locked for being off topic and for being resolved. Please tech, if you still have questions, PM to me or other users there about the problem. And for irrelevance also, this is the most pointless problem with file recompiling. I will unlock it if necessary.

We are in the same side, lol. But it's better to stop posting in a pointless thread.
