Alright I know it's possible to do this, there's python script for doing it and I msged spacey for help. It took me a while to get the python scripts to work but I've read Lukie's tutorial on how to make a custom BMD model. After a while I finally managed to change the coins in the game without crashing the game. I used sketchup to make a mario cube OBJ file (like spacecats did the one time) and triangulate it, then I use cmd to run the scripts through the process of converting the OBJ file to a BMD. But I've noticed an issue when it appears in the game. The coins appeared invisible (scale error?). Also I know to use only BMP file for texture, but what does it mean to have to have them be 24 bit? Do I change the canvas or something? Cuz the block.bmp file was 16 by 16... About my result error, well would I have to convert the original coin.bmd in the game(country).szp root to BDL then view it using bmdview2 or something and view the scale positions? I've researched and I've tried downloading bmdview2 but all it does is download a couple files then bring me to some setup... now when I made the cube in sketchup and added texture I put it at the origin of the X Y axis, so maybe that could be the problem but I'd think that'd be where to draw it cuz I wasn't trying to make an OBJ map. I appreciate all your help! Thanks

Ok, I use Paint.net to make the textures, and when saving files on that program, it asks for the file format (like auto, 24-bit, 16-bit, 8-bit, etc.) So 24-bit would work better. It is also better to use Blender instead of SketchUp, because SketchUp does not have the functions and it is pretty limited, compared to Blender. Blender is also completely free (You can even make profit off of animations you originally make on that program) and you can edit all the features of models from that. Also, exporting to OBJ, your file can't have any lighting or camera objects in it, just the model.
EDIT: Yes, sizing also does matter. Just make your model really, really big, or compare the size of the coin (In Blender) with your new model. Also, apply your texture too in Blender. Then you should be able to export to OBJ, and then do the converting and stuff.

I used a ? block.png file then when I read your tutorial it said "USE ONLY BMP FILES" so I renamed it. hmm I'll try paint.net. just import file then save as BMP 24bit? about bmdview2 well it makes a folder "The Luka Collection" then it downloads some DLL files and the exe (that's what I meant) but I was confused. I figured out bmdview2 I think it's mostly used for viewing level maps in BMD format. bmdview2 gives me some texture errors but it isn't FULLY programmed as I know. well thanks for your help! EDIT: Tell me does blender have the ability to open compressed models as used in gamecube games? I think there's plugins for that. well you use the python script to make BMD files. And when you said "can't have any lighting on the model when exporting it" you mean that all should be on screen is YOUR MODEL? I'm confused on, okay well I wanna change the coins to blocks. well how would I do that without messing up the scale? the coins are circles... I do see that when you made the discs you had to make it VERY MUCH like the coin scale. well I can try making the cube BIG. yeah and I made the texture big as well (well a one with a big canvas).
