Hello. This is an tutorial by lmfinishgamer. We will be explaining in how to remove the DING sound when vacuuming a Ghosts from the game.
Due to the most repetitive times of this small high-pitch sound, at an certain point's you may find this to be annoying... So let's get a tutorial for this.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Requirements:
Hex-Editor (I.E. Hex Workshop) GCRebuilder
Steps:
1. Get your Luigi's Mansion ISO and extract your root. If you don't have GCRebuilder open the Dolphin Emulator, Right Click you're ROM and go to Properties. From their you can Extract you're ISO.
2. Open your hex editor and after open the JaiInit.aaf located in the following directory of the root: "AudioRes"
3. When you have the file, Go to "Offset" box "19d40", which is near the byte you need to edit.
4. You might or not be in this exact offset, anyways search around for a byte called "2F 88" and nullify these to "FF FF". Now, Save your file.
5. Open GCRebuilder and create a new iso for your modified game. (Open -> "Root directory" -> Save "Give the ISO file a name" -> Rebuild) And after that wait for your ISO to finish being Compressed.
Notes:
1. Since the pointer selection sound and the heart bouncing sound use the same sound as the ding sound, they will also be absent too.

I can confirm that this does indeed work on the NTSC version of the game.

Notes:
1. You need to do this in the European ISO, it may also work with the NTSC versions.
I was just pointing it out to anyone else who might read this thread.
